My name is Jan Heijting, I am a design professional with 10 years of experience under my belt, for the greater part in web based solutions. Working for international agencies, I have created engaging online experiences for blue chip companies such as KLM, Esprit and Philips.

Design for me is finding the best answer to a problem or a need, and not just an aesthetic feature to make a product attractive. This answer can be found in any medium, be it a service, a website or a tangible product. Having said that, it is necessary to understand and to take into account the various disciplines and skills which are needed to make this product reality, and, just as important, how to position this product in the market and communicate it to the consumer.

Currently I am working as an independent designer and pursuing a masters degree in Design Management at the EURIB. For my dissertation I am investigating how design thinking can help to solve some of the issues our current healthcare system is facing.
